History

On April 15th 1953, Romeo Goyer bought his first Diesel delivery truck to service agriculturists. Romeo Goyer inc., under the B/A banner, was founded. The first of all Goyer enterprises... Petroles Goyer have imposed themselves in the region today because of its founders, Romeo and Marie-Paule, with their image being immortalized by their daughter Diane, who leads the enterprise with masterfully.

It all started at Forge Street in St-Eustache. To the first truck was added a long list of increasingly sophisticated equipment to allow the expansion of their activities. The year 1959 saw the inauguration of the first Depot of Petroleum products. This originally controversial project proved itself to the local and regional populace.

In 1967, the banner Romeo Goyer inc. B/A relinquishes its place to the distributor Gulf Canada. In 1974, the young Yves Goyer started working as a truck driver assistant. He perceives the possibility of being an independent distributor. The least which can be said is that he was a visionary. He could already see the banner of Petroles Goyer floating in the skies...

It was a hard blow for the Goyer family when Romeo passed away in 1979. The enterprise Romeo Goyer inc. was buried with him and hence was born Petroles Goyer Ltée. His spouse, Marie-Paule, remains at the reigns with determination. We owe her the independence of the company with the precious contribution of Yves. In 1981, Diane Goyer joins the ranks as a secretary. She quickly masters the inner workings of Petroles Goyer. It is with an unwavering trust that Marie-Paul gradually relinquishes the leadership.

The year 1985 was a striking year due to the fact that the company proceeded to the construction of a long series of self serve stations. At the same time we are witness to the creation of the P/G logo which was created for this occasion. A year later, misfortune hits Marie-Paule, who also passes away. The seven children shared amongst themselves the various responsibilities within the enterprise according to their skills and interests. The path is already all lined up for Yves and Diane who appoint themselves as the recipients of Petroles Goyer. Six years later, a new page in history was written when the head office and the depot relocated to 796 Arthur-Sauvé Boulevard.

Together, Yves and Diane make business prosper, until the fateful day when Yves leaves us on February 13th 1999. Greatly shaken, Diane honors the family reputation by pursuing company activities. She not only grew up with the company, she also advanced with it. As of seven years old, Diane was looking upon her mother while she was collecting, going to the bank or negotiating with clients. She was oblivious to the fact that one day she would become the head of Petroles Goyer.

Her biggest personal accomplishment remains her children, to whom she grants tremendous importance. Her heart grows with pride when she sees signs of interest from them towards the enterprise. Initially, Charles-Alex and Andrey-Jade started working as gas station attendants. As for Marie-Maude, Diane sees herself in her when she lends a helping hand at the office. Lasty, the youngest, Pierre-Olivier, demonstrates a decision making spirit similar to his grand-parents. Already 50 years of active presence in the region and the story goes on...On route towards the future!
